Yay, A Hundred Wreckers For Snowblind!

Posted January 11, 2010 by Kalle Max Hofmann 11 Thumb-ups

Oh gee we finally have a hundred wreckers helping us out with Snowblind! Great work has been done so far and we must say this kind of surpassed our expectations!

Our lesson from this is: in the future, we will integrate the wreckamunity into our projects from a much earlier stage. A lot can be done by crowdsourcing and being open to other people's ideas and opinions - and even their craftsmanship. That way you end up with a film that really appeals to a certain audience instead of just fulfilling your egomanic fantasies ;P

Still every director has his or her vision, and sometimes it seems a bit hard to get people rallied for usable input - but this is kind of like a search engine: You have to be specific in your requests if you're not looking for random results. And more importantly, you have to put something in if you want to get something - then it works just fine!

So thanks to all, and everyone feel encouraged to keep contributing to Snowblind. Of course the project IS in it's last steps before being finished, but still there is lots of stuff to do. And a plus is, you know it IS going to be finished, so your efforts won't be in vain :D

Here's (to) the future,

Kalle-Max :D

Yeah, that's it. Specific questions get specific answers, hard work encourages hard work. :)

The Last Battle!

Posted January 04, 2010 by Kalle Max Hofmann 6 Thumb-ups

My dear fellow Wreckers,

the postproduction for Snowblind is nearing its end so it's time to post our call to arms for the last battle. We aim to have the film finished by mid-february and there still are important things to do.

While the core crew here at Snowblind Central has stocked up on frozen pizza and energy drinks and everyone is prepared to do nothing but 18-hour workdays for the next four to six weeks, there are still things you could really help us out with from the comfort of your own living room ^_^

The first two tasks we've released now are designing the official logo and helping to make our VFX shots even better by adding particle effects. So if you want to join the Snowblind ranks at the last minutes to make your names eternally chiseled into the credit roll of the first ever low-budget full green screen spaghetti western, check out these tasks:

Particle Effects and Rotosoping:

And of course the task of creating the film's final poster is still up - there have been some great submissions already, but the group poster we're looking for has yet to be created!

Thanks for all your help,
Kalle-Max ^_^
